Description by the artist
An entire island travels aboard a boat in the Aeolian summer nights. Placid and blissful it reflects the soul of the most beloved of the seven sisters (the Aeolian islands), surrounded by a crown of islets and above all among these the unmistakable shape of Basiluzzo, behind which the Stromboli smokes. The shades chosen are those of blue, creating a vibrant and peaceful atmosphere.

The archipelago of the Aeolian Islands, is located in the northern part of Sicily and is composed of 7 beautiful islands (Vulcano, Lipari, Salina, Alicudi, Filicudi, Panarea and Stromboli) and a large rock: Basiluzzo. It is a concentration of history, worldliness, beautiful beaches, splendid sea, active volcanoes (Stromboli and Vulcano), renowned food products. This work of art is full of typical elements of the Aeolian Islands: the prickly pears, the sea, Stromboli smoking, palm trees, a beautiful blackberry and, above all, the unmistakable Aeolian houses: white, cubic, and with the famous terraces (bagghiu) delimited by columns (puleri).
