Handcrafted in Sicily

The artwork in the Sicilian culture

By the Governance of Sicilian Artisan Foundation

The Renaissance lace is an extremely delicate work where you need need needle, thread, fabric, paper, tissue, but also a lot of patience and skill. It was extremely popular during the ‘500, during the Renaissance from which it takes its name. Here in Sicily our women, sitting outside the door of the house, all together, embroidered and chatted. They still do, preparing these precious trousseaus with beautiful ornamental designs.
