Description by the artist

Watercolor dedicated to the Sicilian countryside and the beauty of centuries-old olive trees. In particular, a monumental olive tree in Bonamorone, Agrigento. The watercolor technique allows you to capture reality in a fresh and extemporaneous way and is part of the story of a special trip to my Sicily through images in an illustrated narrative path that starts from the direct relationship of the places visited.

The artwork in the Sicilian culture

By the Governance of Sicilian Artisan Foundation

Saracen olive trees are millenary olive trees that are found throughout the Sicilian territory. With their trunks wrapped on themselves, as if they were embracing, they are ancient, long-lived, fruitful and beautiful. They are millenary and  thousand years ago in Sicily reigned the Saracens, indeed (IX-XI century).
