Description by the artist
Always fimmina! (Sicilian for Woman). Island with a peculiar character, Sicilia is everything and the opposite of everything; I interpret her as a woman sweet and strong at the same time who puts fire in her veins by the way she looks at you, seductive, bewitching, her strength, her power in a look. Feminine woman like a Spaniard, modern woman like a rock star. These are faces with which I express all the charm of the fire of Etna, the red of lava and the black of ash. Also in this work of mine there are the symbols to be interpreted, like the decoration of an ancient cart that here becomes the sun, and the 3 blue circles to indicate the 3 points of this wonderful land kissed by the sea.

The artwork in the Sicilian culture
Mount Etna, the highest volcano in Europe, is the source of inspiration for this work, where the red of the incandescent lava and the black of the cooled lava, which strongly characterizes the landscape of etna, are the dominant colors of the painting.
