Description by the artist

In this painting I gave the idea of evoking the landscape that contrasts with the blackish frame at its edges, it is this contrast with the colors smeared on the surface that creates a magical aesthetic vision.

The artwork in the Sicilian culture

By the Governance of Sicilian Artisan Foundation

The castle of Acicastello is a wonderful creation of the volcano Etna, in which a huge lava rock overlooking the sea has been both modeled and borrowed by man to build walls and rooms of this castle. Most probably it was built during the Byzantine era (VI-VII century) on a pre-existing Roman fortress. It is located in the central square of this beautiful village and is one of the great symbols of Sicily. Inside the castle there is a small museum with archaeological, paleontological and mineralogical sections. From this beautiful pointed window the landscape is dominated by the sea of Sicily.
