Description by the artist

Watercolor print dedicated to the generous flowering of the Ceiba speciosa in Palermo. At the Botanical Garden in autumn you can enjoy the spectacle of Ceibe in bloom, plants of the Bombacaceae family, native to tropical and sub-tropical areas of South America and well acclimatized to the Sicilian sun. The watercolor technique allows to capture reality in a fresh and extemporaneous way and is part of the story of a special journey in the Botanic Garden of Palermo through images in an illustrated narrative path that starts from the direct relationship of the places visited.

The artwork in the Sicilian culture

The Botanical Garden of Palermo dates back to 1779 and has a collection of 12,000 plants. It is a place of great charm and, above all, of great scientific interest for the various botanical species that it houses. Inside the garden there are also several buildings in neo-classical style.
