"Art is an emotion born from an image, a gesture, a sound that is created by man or nature. I personally believe that artistic forms are the true and unique universal language"
Vincenzo La Mendola was born in Agrigento and as soon as he finishes the art institute moves to the Academy of Fine Arts of Palermo and from there to Rome where he settled and began his path of specialising in the work of the world of Theater as a Set Designer and Costume Designer. After about 20 Roman years the call of his homeland becomes stronger and stronger, so he makes the decision to return to Sicily, to Catania, where he is now been living for 15 years working in the Theater, Art and Creativity.
“My name is Vincenzo besides the name of my paternal grandfather, I inherited the creative ability. Creativity that did not abandon my “nonno” even when he became blind, despite not seeing anything he was able to create wonderful baskets in cane and olive tree”
The opinion of the Governance
“The works of Vincenzo La Mendola enclose practicality, beauty of expression and perfection in forms. Warriors, Wise man and Gentle Daimes. Men and women of the Mediterranean. In all of his works the dominant element is the proud face and the haughty gaze of Mamma Siciliy’s children”
