“Art is perhaps that red thread that separates technique from emotion. I spend hours and hours painting until I feel the breath of art”
Claudia Clemente was born in Bagheria from the sculptor Gaetano Clemente and Rosalia Coglitore, who was the daughter of one of Bagheria’s first photographers.
Growing up among wood shavings of statues and carts, photographic images on the glass plates of the Certosa and Villa Valguarnera, Claudia could not help but take the path of art. Painting is her life, she has been doing it since the very beginning, using different techniques, passing from oil on canvas, to acrylic, watercolor, colored pencils, glass and mural painting, up to the one lately used with acrylic and stucco.
Claudia, in addition to painting, is a set designer, costume designer and graphic designer. She teaches art and has participated in countless painting exhibitions.
Sometimes I leave a work in suspension, caught up in the frenzy of giving life to another… then I pick it up again after a lapse of time and I realize that everything that was missing was there waiting for me. And those traces come alive, my hand just must follow them.

The opinion of the Governance
On the red thread that separates technique from emotion, Claudia Clemente’s art is the end game of looks and faces that conceal the supreme message of the island of Sicily that gave birth to her.
